Fixture

Today we welcomed Porthcawl Under 11’s for a great morning of rugby. We have not played each other for a few seasons but we expected a tough game and that’s exactly what we got from a well drilled Porthcawl side.
We made a solid start (for the second week running) with good tackling, support play and rucking but it was Porthcawl who got on the scoreboard first. We kept our heads up and continued playing well to even up the score with a try from Leo Giraud. We had a few chances to take the lead but our handling let us down at vital times and Porthcawl went on to score a second try. There were many turn overs at the ruck for both sides after that, and some big tackles put in, so it was a deserved score equalling try by Leo Giraud again that took us into a 10 - 10 half time break.
Porthcawl came out stronger in the second half, scoring 2 tries in the process before Leo Giraud went over for his third try of the day to give us a exciting finish going into the final quarter but it wasn’t to be. Porthcawl scored a further 3 unanswered tries to take the victory on the day but rugby was the real winner as both teams served up some good rugby for the spectators.
Marius, Luke and I were delighted with the effort put in by the boys today, they rucked particularly well, support play was also good and they showed great physicality in taking the game to Porthcawl. Continue playing like that every week boys, cut out the handling errors and we can be a match for anybody.
