It was a mix of the Llynfi Valley and Gwent for the Mini and Junior teams this week with the mini sides hosting the Llynfi Valley sides whilst the Junior teams were mainly involved with games against Gwent sides, except for the Under Sixteens who hosted Gilfach Goch.

Rugby was the winner as all players had the opportunity to play and did so with a smile of their faces.

Emphasis will be placed on defence in training this week as everything else is coming together nicely. The star performer this week was Gruff Lewis.

The Under Tens also shared their players with Maesteg Celtic and played three, ten-minute periods. The Sports players showed great attitude to produce an exceptional performance to run out winners. All players tackled, rucked and passed well. The tries were all finished via good team work. The Sports man of the match was Charlie Paget due to his try scoring, good hard tackles, fantastic rucking and playing for the team.

The Under Elevens also defeated Maesteg Celtic 38 – 7. This was a more physical encounter against a hard-Celtic side who tackled well. The Sports started slowly but grew into the game. They played some good rugby at times with some well taken tries.

The Under Thirteens travelled to Crumlin for a Friday night game. It was a great experience for the side playing under floodlights which they enjoyed immensely and emerged from the experience with a victory.

The under Fifteens continue to defy the odds each week with their never say die attitude, they hosted Croesyceiliog at home and registered a 42 – 15 victory.
