What a lovely morning for a game of rugby against a very good well drilled Skewen Under 10’s who taught us a lesson in effective rucking.

We competed in all aspects of the game, but the ruck area, and Skewen were quicker on the ground and won a lot of ball in the tackle area.
There were many positives in defeat in that we stuck at it and as the game progressed we improved on our ball placement in the tackle and defended our ruck ball more effectively. We also upped our line speed in defence later in the game putting pressure on their defence, forcing them backwards with good tackling, but we were unable to get over their try line on the day. 

Well done for not giving up and improving as the game wore on. Congratulations to Cooper who made his Sports debut today, well done.
There were many players who put in a “good shift” today so the team player of the day award was a tough decision which eventually went to Hari Coulthard for good tackling, support play, rucking and tackling.
Overall the result was disappointing on the day but there are plenty of positives for us to continue working on to improve our overall game.
